If you have qualified for state, you will soon receive a letter in the mail with important information regarding registering for your classes at state, reminders about your work hours for state, voting for the Allison Garner Memorial award, and any other new information. 

Please make a note of the August meeting at Stars and Strikes in Dallas on August 19th @ 7:00 pm . This meeting is very important to attend if you plan to compete at the state show. You are not required to attend this meeting, but are strongly encouraged to attend due to the information that will be given regarding the state show.  At this meeting, you will:

  • Find out stall assignments
  • Sign up for the required 2 work hours at state  
  • You will be reminded of shavings, coggins, etc.

Please be sure to bring a copy of your horses’ current coggins to the shows. A copy of your horses’ current coggins is required with entry.  You MUST have a current coggins on each horse you bring onto the show grounds.  A horse without current coggins should not be unloaded from trailer.

We do require you to show current coggins at each show.

There will be 2 arenas operating at the same time. The new arena will be open for all the pleasure classes, while the old arena will be used only for the running events. ]]> http://nwgha.org/blog/2010/02/19/state-show-schedule-of-events/feed/ 0 Catch the latest with NWGHA http://nwgha.org/blog/2010/01/17/catch-the-latest-with-nwgha/ http://nwgha.org/blog/2010/01/17/catch-the-latest-with-nwgha/#comments Sun, 17 Jan 2010 19:28:58 +0000 admin http://nwgha.org/blog/2010/01/17/catch-the-latest-with-nwgha/          March 13th is the next scheduled NWGHA State Qualifying show for the 2010 show season.  The show starts at 10:00 and will be held at Bartow County Saddle Club.  This year there will be a separate judge hired for the Racking Classes.  The March show is the 3rd show of the season, with only three other shows scheduled, April 10th, May 8th and June 5th. 

If you are interested in getting qualified for the State show in September and did not show at the October or November shows you will need to show in the remaining 4 shows to meet the NWGHA requirements.  And don’t forgot your work hours!

NWGHA monthly meetings are now being held the 3rd Thursday of the month, at 7:00, at Stars and Strikes in Dallas.

NORTHWEST GEORGIA PROPOSALS:

·      Change / Increase the pony height to 52″   – This would change the qualifying for State and therefore be for the 2011 State Show. This would affect Rule #2 under Pony Pleasure, Rule #4 under Timed Event – Ponies, and Pony Measurement rules. 

·         Add a Youth Halter - (19 and Under)

·         Add a Western Walk / Jog – All Ages, Pleasure Only

·         Add an English Walk / Trot - All Ages, Pleasure Only

·         Change Cones to Stake Race

·         Add 19 & Under Youth Showmanship Halter

·         Add “Specialty Action Racking” – All Age

Any passed proposals would take effect with the 2011 State Show.
